License Requirements

The Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) requires that all Florida real estate licensees must first satisfy the 45 hour post-licensing requirement by their expiration date (date on license). Then they must complete 14 hours of instruction (Continuing Education Units/CEUs) every 2 years thereafter.

45 Hour Post-licensing Requirement - Must attend either a 45 Hour Post Licensing Course or GRI-1 “Standards of Practice”

14 Hour Renewal Requirement - Must complete the mandatory Core Law 3 hour course (3 CEUs). The other 11 “specialty” hours (CEUs) are all the other courses related to real estate practices. The GRI-1 “Standards of Practice” course, correspondence books and 14 hour online renewal courses include everything you need for your 14 hour renewal.

Broker’s Post-licensing Requirement - Must attend either the Broker’s 60 Hour Post licensing or GRI-2 “Essential Real Estate Techniques” and GRI-3 “Real Estate Specialties”

RAMC Does Not Track Your License Renewal. Please go to your Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) Online Services Account to access your personal license information, verify your renewal date and education requirements and renew your license online.

To find license education renewal requirements: Log into and select View My Continuing Ed. It will list how many hours required, how many satisfied and your shortfall during your current cycle. A listing of the courses you have completed will be listed on the bottom of the page. NOTE: If you had a short fall during the prior cycle, CEUs from your current cycle will be applied to the prior cycle. .
